I Wrote A Book — The Art of Argument
I’m thrilled to announce the release of my new book. The physical copy is available for purchase on RovingHeights. For those interested in an electronic copy, please check here on Selar. Getting it on Amazon from here has been more difficult than I thought (please, let me know if you can help).
Now, let me share a story:
During my teenage years, before I ever set foot on a plane, I came across an intriguing insight in a book. A man observed that, during flights, individuals of European and American origins tended to bury their heads in books, while Blacks were often engrossed in movies or generally idle.
Since then, I made up my mind that I would intentionally flaunt my reading habits inside planes and if I happened to sit beside a person not from my race, I would attempt to engage them in an intellectual discussion.
On my recent trip abroad, armed with three copies of the first published set of this book, I took one and decided to revisit its contents. With a 7-hour journey ahead, I had ample time to stand up occasionally and stroll down the aisle. Each time, I was engrossed in reading. The Belgian beside me even asked to read the Introduction. It must have engaged him because he told me he would like to get a copy. I generously gave him one, asking him to keep it as it was an advanced copy. Somehow, he didn’t connect the person speaking to him with the author at the back of the book.
A similar encounter took place on my return to the country, this time with a White South African.
The child in me was satiated. It was a different kind of fulfilment because it involved my own book.
Talent is universal; opportunity is not.
My book is now available, and I encourage you to get yourself a copy.
I owe this book to the many interactions I have had on Social Media, especially on Facebook, where words are intentionally and unintentionally manipulated to lead us astray.
This book takes readers on a journey through the history and fundamentals of logic and reasoning, exploring the development of early frameworks and the limitations they exposed. It teaches how to call out falsehood and identify truth, even in the midst of today’s flurry of information. I made sure to tell a lot of stories on a subject that is traditionally boring. This book will help you attain objectivity devoid of bias and fallacies and encourage you to argue in a way that spreads knowledge and enlightenment among you and those you encounter.
Once again, the physical copy is available for purchase on RovingHeights. For those interested in an electronic copy, please check Selar.
